Community activity

Throughout the year, we hold a variety of activities in the community for different ages, including: study series in the Beit Midrash in which we study the weekly Torah portion and various sources from the Jewish and general heritage; children's prayers on Shabbat morning, a singing group, study and conversation sessions on a variety of topics, and more.

In addition, many events are held at the initiative of community members according to the needs that arise from the community.

You can stay up-to-date on current activities in the community calendar that appears on the home page or through the community's various other communication channels:
(Facebook, Instagram, the weekly newsletter and the community's WhatsApp group)

Thanks to community activists, led by Debi Lev-Ran and members of the Tsekada and Lechma Foundation, we raised agricultural volunteerism and initiatives that support soldiers and families due to the war.

We gathered a group of 65 community members and neighbors who responded at the end of October 2023 to the mission, each time in a different composition. Couples and individuals from different backgrounds. We did pruning, picking, packing... everything that was necessary.

We connected with "Leket Israel", "Letat", "Order 8 for Agriculture" and "Brothers for the Farm" and began receiving inquiries from farmers in the south, Sharon and the surrounding areas.

We saved a crop that would otherwise have rotted and been thrown away, driving up prices for consumers and putting farmers at risk of bankruptcy.

We listened to the farmers' stories and supported them on a human level alongside practical assistance. We packed and donated food to a women's shelter in Jerusalem. We distributed food to the elderly and those in need together with other organizations. We doubled the achievements by connecting with the "Tachlit" organization, which cares for those in need.

We continue to volunteer and invite the entire community, neighbors, and all their circles of friends to join.

Mourning Committee

The bereavement committee deals with everything related to the community's dealing with grief, both for community members on an individual level and for the community as a whole.

The Bereavement Committee holds workshops throughout the year to provide a space and response to process the grieving process, a space where community members gather, remember, and support each other. The committee also meets and acts in real-time, when there is a death within or around the community, and provides a framework of support.

צעדים במדים

We lovingly accompany our children who have grown up and gone on their own paths in military or civilian service. The committee maintains contact with all the soldiers from the community's families and Telam Youth graduates and sends them a modest gift accompanied by congratulations on holidays. In addition, the committee organizes a number of community activities for the soldiers' parents and the entire community.

Community in neighborhoods

A network of neighborhood coordinators who organize community activities for community members in their neighborhood, mainly around holidays and during periods that require mutual assistance (Covid) and more.

ק.ר.ן

This foundation is an organization of volunteers who help community members in times of difficulty or crisis in a variety of ways.

Volunteers assist with cooking, shopping, support, and more.

Community meals

Every few Shabbats, community members gather for a communal meal after Shabbat prayers or on holidays. Sometimes the meals have unique themes, such as welcoming new members, Hamzidah (a leavened bread meal before Passover), etc. Community members are involved in organizing the meal and the social gathering around it.

A program for young people.

Collaborations with Talmim - the youth community of the Reform Judaism Movement, with the Open House for Pride and Tolerance in Jerusalem, and more.
